What this site collects

There are no ads here, and nothing about you is sold or shared for marketing. This page lists everything the site does keep, and why.

Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to see which pages get read, roughly where readers are, what device they use and how they found the site. Google sets its own cookies to do this and handles that data under its privacy policy. You can turn it off for every site with Google's opt-out add-on.

The site’s own visitor counter

The site also keeps its own simple count of visits: pages viewed, country and state, device type, and where a visit came from (like Google or Instagram), all as daily totals. To count each visitor once a day, it makes a scrambled code from your connection and browser, mixed with the date. That code can’t be turned back into your address and is deleted within two days. No cookie is used for this.

Review alert emails

If you sign up for alerts, the site keeps your email address, which alerts you picked, and when you signed up and confirmed. Nothing is sent until you confirm from the first email. Every alert has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them right away. To have your address removed completely, email [email protected].

Comments

Comments are public. The site keeps the name you choose (or Anonymous), what you wrote and when. It also sets one cookie, rwr_vid, a random code that lasts two years, so the site knows which comments and claimed name are yours. It holds nothing else about you.

Questions and video likes

If you send a question through the Ask page, the site keeps the question, the name you give (if any) and the page you asked from. Your connection is stored only as a scrambled code that changes every day, to stop spam. Blog video views are counted once a day per visitor the same way, and those codes are deleted within two days. A like keeps a scrambled code for that one video so you can take it back.

Things that never leave your device

Some tools save to your own browser and are never sent to the site: your picks on Score your own, the terp quiz, your shop order list, night mode, and whether you’ve already seen the email signup. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.

The shop and discount codes

The shop takes no payments. Orders are sent as an Instagram message, so Instagram’s own privacy policy covers that conversation. While the shop is password locked, a cookie remembers that you entered the password for 30 days.

Discount code links go to the brand’s own store, which sees your order like any other customer’s. Rory earns a commission and only ever sees total orders and earnings, never names or order details.

Hosting and security

The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles every request and sees connection details like your IP address in order to deliver the site and block attacks. Cloudflare may set a short security cookie to tell people from bots.

21 and over

This site is for adults 21 and over and isn’t meant for anyone younger. If you’re under 21, please don’t sign up for alerts, comment or send questions.

Questions about your data

Email [email protected] to ask what the site holds about you or to have it deleted. If anything on this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
