Dispensary Etiquette 101

Walk in with a rough idea of what you want — flower, pre-roll, edible, whatever — and a price range in mind, but stay open to what the budtender actually points you toward. They know that day's stock, freshness, and what's actually moving far better than any online menu does.

Skip the vague “what's good?” and ask something specific instead: “I liked this last time, what's similar?” or “I want something for daytime that won't fog me up.” Specific questions get specific, useful answers. Vague questions get generic ones.

Be mindful of the counter during a rush — don't turn a quick pickup into a twenty-minute consultation if there's a line — but also don't feel like you have to rush yourself. A shop that's any good wants you walking out happy with what you bought, not just walking out fast.

Always bring ID. Plenty of shops are still cash-preferred or cash-only since cannabis banking is still limited in a lot of states, so it's worth checking before you go. And if a budtender genuinely walks you through something and it ends up being exactly right, a tip is a fair way to say thanks — that's real service work.
